Welcome to Halton Holegate Nursery!
Welcome to our Nursery for 2 - 4 year olds! Our setting is surrounded by beautiful views and extensive outdoor opportunties. We have Miss Kitchen and Mrs Martini as our Nursery staff. In Nursery, we work towards preparing ourselves for future years in school. We love to sing Nursery Rhymes, explore our sensory trays and investigate our outdoor learning environment to build our understanding of the world. We have rich outdoor provision, facilitate exciting play-based learning activities and inspire the children through hands on experiences such as baking, gardening and plenty of sensory learning. We have access to our own playground and a beautiful school field which includes our vegetable patches, pond, nature area and sensory garden. 2022 / 2023
In Nursery, we loved having a school trip to Rand Farm Park to learn all about the animals!
We have loved watching our caterpillars grow from tiny eggs to beautiful butteflies!
In Nursery we enjoy baking. The children explore ways to make cupcakes and decorate. This baking theme was for the coronation!
The children love using their fine motor skills and pratcising ways to follows lines.
Encouraging children to enjoy books from a young age is very important at Halton Holegate. The children love making reading dens and exploring books.
We enjoy planting our own food in our Vegetable patches. The children enjoying tasting what they have planted.
In Nursery, we enjoy the access to mark making materials.
In Nursery we enjoy exploring different foods and creating different things. This week we made homemade pizzas and spoke about our toppings.
We love planting and watching our sunflowers grow in the Summer!
We have been exploring ways to create our name and looking at different ways to mark make.
Messy play is our favourite in Nursery. We enjoy exploring the playdough and mark making with the paints.

Now the weather is nicer, the children have loved exploring the outdoor environment more!
We love water play in Nursery! The children enjoy mixing and pouring and experimenting with the jugs and tools.

Welcome to our Nursery for 2 - 4 year olds! Our setting is surrounded by beautiful views and extensive outdoor opportunties. We have Miss Kitchen and Mrs Martini as our Nursery staff. In Nursery, we work towards preparing ourselves for future years in school. We love to sing Nursery Rhymes, explore our sensory trays and investigate our outdoor learning environment to build our understanding of the world. We have rich outdoor provision, facilitate exciting play-based learning activities and inspire the children through hands on experiences such as baking, gardening and plenty of sensory learning. We have access to our own playground and a beautiful school field which includes our vegetable patches, pond, nature area and sensory garden. The children have been learning the importance of recycling! We discussed as a group why we recycle and how we can save the environment and protect the animals.
