Learning and flourishing together within the love of God.
Inspired by St Andrew, we will endeavour to ensure all members of our inclusive and caring Christian community flourish and fulfil their potential as valued and valuable human beings. We will provide a high quality education that enables pupils to excel in all they do and prepares them to thrive in, and support the wider community.
“I come to bring life in all its fullness.” (John 10:10)
Why is this Our Vision?
As a school, we are proud of our links with the village church; the church of St Andrew. Andrew was a fisherman and one of the first followers of Jesus, inspiring the school community to thrive and flourish. He introduced his brother Simon to Jesus and Simon became one of the first leaders of the Christian church. Despite his Jewish roots, Andrew’s name, with its Greek origin, shows the impact of diversity on his lived experience. We seek to honour the diversity within and beyond our community through our commitment to inclusion and care. Although being a poor fisherman, Andrew thrived, and his potential was fulfilled through travelling widely across the early Christian world. Tradition states that he reached Kyiv and foretold it would be the cradle of Christianity in the Slavic lands. Because of this, Andrew is the patron saint of Ukraine. Andrew’s journeys inspire our staff, families and most importantly our children to explore and engage with the rich diversity of the global Christian community from within our own inclusive and caring Christian community. Andrew excelled in his work from very humble beginnings. We are proud to use his life as a basis for our vision of wanting our own children to flourish and thrive in a demanding and modern world which all school staff are proud to demonstrate. In the school, we have a display dedicated to St Andrew and go to church to celebrate his patronal festival on 30th November where the children design fish to remember his early life as a fisherman which are then displayed in the church.
Our Values
While we do have a focus on a certain value every term, we promote all of our values across the school year. By focusing on one each term, our daily Collective Worship enables us to link the value to a story from the Bible for the children to learn about.
Term 1 - Thankfulness
Term 2 - Generosity
Term 3 - Perseverance
Term 4 - Compassion
Term 5 - Curiosity
Term 6 - Courage
In addition to our values, we place a high level of emphasis on the teaching of the British Values and learning about discrimination through knowledge of the Protected Characteristics.
The governors are committed to working with the Leadership team to ensure the school is seen as a good school. We want to ensure the school remains a place where the children feel happy and safe. We also want to make ensure the school develops robustness for the future. To this end we have chosen the following key Strategic priorities:
